Year 7 have been exploring the properties of circles looking at the radius, diameter and circumference. We carried out an investigation in our school playground to identify circled and estimate their radius, diameter and circumference. We used metre sticks to measure the diameter and radius easily, but we found the circumference tricky to measure. We came up with a great idea - we used string along the outside of the circumference and the measured the length of sting against a metre stick!
